When I was a child, my mum took lots of photography for me; and she said it is an approach to maintain memories. I bought my first film single lens reflex camera after the digital one; they are the same brand, I think I can use the lenses between two cameras. Perhaps most people are using digital cameras nowadays because they can take as much as they can. However, film cameras only have one chance, and you will know how well the photos after studio processing were. Thus, I always have different expectations for each film, sometimes are quite surprised to see the results. The pictures from films have specific textures; it also depends what brands and colours of films are using. Sometimes, expired or mouldy films could also produce unique photos. These were the selected photography from different films, and each photo has their story: Film One: 🎞: Colour, 🙍🏻♀️: Manisha,📍: Red Brick Factory Creative Park. I went to Red Brick Factory Creative Park with my cousin, and we were thinking about to take some photos from a film camera. We would like to compare the pictures between film and digital. So, we brought the digital camera as well. Film Two: 🎞: Black & White, Double exposure cat,📍: Cat Café. It was a cat café in Canton, and it was the first time that I tried to use double exposure function from a film camera for a moving subject. Thus, one cat was divided into two. Film Three: 🎞: Colour, 📍: Vietnam. I took a short break to Vietnam. Film Four: 🎞: Black & White, Parrot from Street. It was in Starbucks; a man took his parrot to enjoy a sunshine afternoon. Film Six: 🎞: Black & White, A child from Southampton. A blonde boy was spending a morning with his mum in a small park behind a lake; He was not willing to smile in the front of my camera. Film Seven: 🎞: Colour, 🙎🏻♂️&🙍🏻♀️: Irene and Doane, 📍:South Bank. We planned initially to visit the lavender park. However, we took a wrong train and ended up drinking with brilliant weather and Riverview at an oyster bar. Amy was holding my camera in this picture. Film Seven: 🎞: Colour, 🙍🏻♀️: Sanny, 📍:Richmond Park. It was a freezing day in the Richmond park. We had been planning for a week to visit the park and deer. Sanny specifically asked me to make her pretty in the pictures. Film Seven: 🎞: Colour, 🙍🏻♀️: Amy with deers, 📍: Richmond Park. Amy could not wait to have a shoot with deer. Film Eight: 🎞: Colour, 🙍🏻♀️:Amy, 📍:Bookshop. Amy took me to a famous bookshop, and she pretended she was a talented girl. Film Eight: 🎞:Colour, A cool dog from the street, 📍: Notting Hill. when I passed the street, I saw this dog really enjoyed a sunshine afternoon . Film Eight: 🎞:Colour, 🙍🏻♀️:Diep 📍: Notting Hill. She was the tour guide, who spent a whole afternoon with me in Notting Hill. These were my experiences with my film camera so far. I love to spend my every moment with it. It is hard to believe that these pictures became my memories in the past six years. Thank you for reading my first blog and hope you enjoy it, you also can leave your opinions in the comments below.
