What is My Cooking Experience?

There are many people around know that I am good at cooking, thus, I will talk about my cooking experiences in this blog.

Since when I have been learning cooking?
I have been cooking since I was seven years old when I was in kindergarten. My parents were too busy at their careers, and they hated to buy snacks for me because they think it was not good for my health and physical development. Therefore, when I felt hungry and stayed home alone, I have to cook something for myself.

Where did I learn my cooking?
I was usually watching some cooking program on TV. However, nowadays I spend lots of time on YouTube because there are many different channels I can choose to watch, and I can get some ideas from there.

What do I usually cook?
I mainly cook for Cantonese and Hakkanese dishes, but sometimes I will try new, such as Korean, Japanese, Thai, Baking and etc; because I love to challenge myself.

How often do I cook?
When I was a child, I cooked quite often. In the weekdays, my mum usually bought all the ingredients in the morning, and I would cook after I finished school. However, on the weekends or national holidays, I went to markets alone and prepared the meals every day and waited for my parents came home. Thus, I have lots of practices.

How many people that I usually cook for?
I only cooked for my parents as I was a child, but I also cooked for the entire family in special occasions, such as the lunar new year or Father/Mother’s Day, approximate 10-20 people, but it has increased 20-30 people.

​Personally, I do not really follow any receipt, because every chef has their preference to cook what they want. After almost 18 years cooking experiences, I understand most of the ingredients' features. Thus, it is easy to make any dishes whatever what ingredients I have.
